Is it safer to pierce your navel with Surgical steel, or must you strictly only use Gold?
okay. i live around east village, Manhattan, and the closest piercing studio is Venus By Maria Tash. The navel jewelry is BEAUTIFUL, but it's all pure gold and a little too pricey for me. I want to get a navel piercing, but i don't want to spend too much money if i can buy steel jewelry. But i'm wondering if i am more likely to get infected if i do so. please! please help me. xoxo <3
Titanium or surgical stainless steel are great for initial piercings. They are pretty much the standard materials used. Here's a material guide in case you want to read a little more about it. It will mention under each material if it's safe to have something pierced with.
